Scales and Arpeggios!

I’ve done it – I’ve signed up to Piano Lessons for 8 weeks.

When I was little I used to play piano. I think I was pretty good at it back in the day. We moved to the countryside when I was 12 and my lessons were still in Dublin in the Royal Academy of Music. It would have taken up our entire Saturday, every Saturday, so I decided I didn’t want to go any more. I probably should have just started new lessons closer to home but that’s teenagers for ya!

I’ve been hemming and hawing about going back for a while and yesterday I bit the bullet and booked the lessons. It will be tough starting from not quite the beginning as it can be quite frustrating remembering what you used to be able to do. I only completed up to grade 2 exams but it will take me a long time to get back to that standard after all these years. Its been a few years since I’ve played but I think I’ll eventually aim to go back to doing the exams for the grades so I have something to keep me motivated to practice.

Anyway, wish me luck! My first lesson is on Saturday!
