So this is an obvious choice for C in the Disney A to Z but to spice it up a little bit I’m going to talk about my favourite version of this beloved tale. The TV movie version of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella produced by Walt Disney Television.
This version features an all star cast: Brandy as Cinderella, Paolo Montalban as the prince, Whoopi Goldberg as the Prince’s mother, Bernadette Peters as the Evil Stepmother and Whitney Houston as the fairy godmother. Its been years since I’ve seen this movie and I can still sing the songs from it. It was such a fresh telling of the story with a multi racial cast, where every one is an actual singer / stage performer . The circumstances in which the prince and Cinderella meet and their interactions afterward make it seem possible they could fall in love instead of just meeting and then they get married and live happily ever after.
